Towards a Sustainable Evolution of Cultural Festivals

Towards a Sustainable Evolution of Cultural Festivals

curator

  • Foundation Initiative

As cultural festivals the world over grow in scale and reach, there is also a pressing need to address issues of sustainability, accessibility, and inclusivity in a realistic manner.  What are the key societal issues that festivals can champion to spread awareness? How can festivals become platforms that feature proper representation and inclusion of LGBTQI+ communities, the differently-abled and other marginalised voices? And finally, what does it mean to be a truly sustainable network of cultural organisations that help each other grow and do better, not just for the planet, but for each other?
