Science Gallery in collaboration with Ravi Agarwal
Carbon is an archive of buried sunshine, carrying memories of life on earth. It jumbles the divide between substance and phenomena; caught between finitude of nature’s resources and the near infinite wonderous potential it holds. It is urgent that we better understand both carbon energy history and the futures it enables.Science Gallery Bengaluru’s CARBON, an immersive and multidisciplinary exhibition, explores the critical and contentious relationship with the element. Curated by the Science Gallery Bengaluru team in collaboration with artist and curator Ravi Agarwal, the exhibition critically examines carbon in contemporary and historical contexts.
CARBON at Serendipity Arts Festival is a specially curated module with a selection of 11 works from the original exhibition, which opened at Science Gallery Bengaluru in January 2024. In addition to the exhibits, visitors will have access to a rich digital collection of lectures, events, films, books, podcasts, and games, available on the exhibition website.
