I Am Lawrence Wilson is a short documentary capturing the vibrant life of Lawrence Wilson, (who during the time of filming in 2020 was 72 years old) a singer, dancer, and stand-up comedian. He is a cinephile who was a part of an old custom of screening films in rural Goa, India when theatres were rare, and television was not popular. Through Wilson’s journey, the film illuminates the lives of veteran artists in the film industry, showcasing how they continue to live in a time capsule, preserving the legacy and nostalgia of a bygone era despite the changes that surround them.
This will be followed by live analog film (16mm/35mm) projections by the film's main subject, Lawrence Wilson.
