Born in Birmingham to Punjabi Pakistani parents, she doesn’t shrink from tackling tackles issues of identity and race head-on – one of her recent tours was entitled Coconut (“brown on the outside, white on the inside”). A strict traditional upbringing, and recent appearances on celebrity reality TV shows also prove fertile comedy ground. Supported by two talented British Asian comedians, this is an evening of comedy thatmines the rich seam of the British Asian experience; edgy but not offensive, bold, direct, thought-provoking and hilarious.
