Royal Birmingham Banda Brasiliera

Royal Birmingham Banda Brasiliera

Banda Brasileira is a new ensemble exploring the rich and diverse sounds of Brazil. From the infectious of rhythms of Samba and Baião to the folkloric music of Northeast Brazil, and the sophisticated sounds of Bossa Nova that emerged in 1960s Rio de Janeiro, the band brings Brazil’s musical melting pot to life.

Founded by multi-instrumentalist Shanti Jayasinha—who has worked with top UK-based Brazilians like Mônica Vasconcelos and João Bosco De Oliveira and played with São Paulo’s Banda Mantiqueira—this performance promises an exhilarating journey through Brazil’s vibrant musical landscape.
