Poetry Evening
Greg Leadbetter is a poet and Professor at BCU and Director of the Institute of Creative and Critical Writing. Together with Naush Sabah, Editor and Director of the journal Poetry Birmingham, he has reinstigated evenings of poetry reading at BCU. Held upstairs in a room at The Woodman pub on campus, these evenings allow students to read their work alongside visiting published poets, giving a fresh and always varied selection of voices that is as diverse as the student intake itself. Informal and energetic, these short sessions are an invaluable opportunity for exchange of ideas and reflect the wide variety of voices and styles of British contemporary poetry.
