The act of playing is also the opportunity of celebrating craft skills from across India. All the elements of the board games will be re-presented, using traditional materials and processes.
Far from passive observers, visitors become active players, engaging with the interplay of mythology, mathematics, and modern craft and design. The exhibition dissolves boundaries between craft installation, traditional games, and the act of play; reinterpreting play’s role in civic and cultural life. These games, historically, have been spaces for negotiating fate and choice, ethics and ambition, chance and consequence.
Presented by WEFT Foundation, this collaborative project merges traditional knowledge with innovative craft. Through curation, performance, and installation, The Games People Play offers a poetic exploration of time, rules, and the human pursuit of transcendence through play.
