Carved into the earth, stepwells are more than reservoirs, they are portals to memory, resilience, and ritual. This spatial installation draws from the stepwells of Gujarat and Rajasthan, tracing the cultural imagination of water and the architecture it shapes.

Through film, textile, scent, sound, and gesture, spectators are invited to descend into a space where craft holds the whispers of time and stories ripple beneath the surface. This is not a reconstruction, but a resonance-where inherited knowledge seeps through fabric and form.

Here, water becomes metaphor and memory, and the stepwell becomes a threshold, between past and present, depth and light. Spectators move not through a static display, but through an unfolding of textures, myths, and meanings still alive in the cracks.
