Santa Monica Jetty
A dynamic presentation of sitar with rhythm pads, cajón, and mouth percussion — this concert is an Indian Classical Music concert in a fresh, contemporary style. First, a raga will be selected according to the time of the day. Beginning with an alaap on sitar and then moving through rhythmic cycles in rupak or jhaptal, and teentaal, and concluding with a lively dhun, the performance bridges timeless tradition with modern soundscapes.
Please arrive at the venue at least 20 minutes before the start time, otherwise entry cannot be guaranteed.
This performance will be held on a unique sunset cruise departing from Santa Monica Jetty. Audience members will get the opportunity to revel in the rays of the setting sun while the cool breeze blowing across the Mandovi river carries notes of the artists and their jugalbandi.
