Lost Fish Recipes, supported by Serendipity Arts through the Food Matters Grant, traces indigenous fish recipes as a point of artistic inquiry. The work primarily engages with the fading culinary traditions of a community along the dying Kulsi River in Assam. It navigates the entanglements of taste, memory, and loss amid the shifting contours of climate change and extractive interventions on the river.

Through an interdisciplinary approach that spans food ethnography, interactive play, and visual speculations, we intend to position food as both a medium and a metaphor to reflect on local food systems and the precarity of our shared ecological futures.

The Food Matters Grant supports projects that aim to contribute to the discourse around food and create a knowledge network to promote inquiry into food practices in India and South Asia. Through this grant, we hope to create a space for the exchange of ideas around food habits, traditions, and futures.
