Kalpavriksha: The Life and Times of Coconut in Goa

This storytelling session will pay emphasis on the significance of coconut in Goan rituals, economy, and everyday cultural practices. In addition, there will be a special focus on the relationship that the women of Goa share with this everyday fruit. The session will be followed by an activity, where participants can further interact with these stories.

Age Group: 7+

Facilitator: Usha Chhabra is an educator, storyteller and award-winning author known for bringing narratives, traditions, and performances to life. A recipient of the Top Storytellers’ Award by the World HRD Congress and the Rex Karmaveer Award, she has led sessions at the World Book Fair, National Museum, Jaipur Literature Festival Outreach, Serendipity Arts Festival, and numerous cultural spaces across India.
