In this creative cross-cultural workshop, children will explore the art of upcycling and storytelling through embroidery. Each child will receive a pre-cut textile fish figure made from repurposed fabrics and choose their favorite colors to bring it to life. With the help of transliteration charts, they will learn to write and embroider their own name in Ukrainian, decorating their fish with simple cross stitches before sewing it together and attaching a string to hang on their bag.

As the stitches take shape, they’ll also discover a slice of Ukrainian culture — learning about traditional fish dishes like herring and хамса (anchovy), and hearing stories of Crimea, once home to abundant fishing traditions. This hands-on experience celebrates the meeting of Goan and Ukrainian cultures, inspiring children to connect, create, and carry a piece of global friendship wherever they go.
