This workshop will empower participants to creatively explore electronic instruments for idea generation, be that musical or otherwise.

Synthesisers, drum machines and FX units have literally changed the very fabric of society, from the abstract utopian visions of early electronic composers to the 808 driven cultural revolutions of rave culture, early hip-hop (& so, so much more). Hosted by internationally acclaimed audio-visual artist Vijay Thillaimuthu, this workshop will give attendees the opportunity to delve into the history of electronic sound tools and culture before facilitating interaction with some of the most prominent electronic instruments of all time. Recently, Paul Purgas, of legendary avant-techno duo Empty set, uncovered a forgotten archive of tapes from electronic Indian pioneers of the late 60’s & early 70’s. This forever changed the narrative of the history of electronic music. How will your creativity and electric dreams shape the future?
